Viewing Saturday 12th December 2009 From 12 To 5pm
On Saturday 12th December, an exhibition of Eveleen Power's most recent paintings will be open to the public in Quealy's Bar & Restaurant, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford. Recurring themes are again central in the work exhibited in the intimate and atmospheric Q82 space on the first floor of the restaurant; sea- and landscapes, people and also abstract variations on similar themes. This is in line with Eveleen's ongoing exploration of how land, seascapes and people interact. She continues to explore with different media and exhibits oils, acrylics, pastels and water colors.
Dungarvan born artist, Eveleen Power, the latest in a long line of artists from her family, shows recent paintings in her one day show at Quealy's, 82 O'Connell Street, Dungarvan. To preview this exhibition while also bring her work to a wider audience Eveleen has kept her own web site www.eveleenpower.com up to date .
Eveleen's father Sean de Paor is a well known and established landscape artist who has had many exhibitions over the years in the area. He taught her to draw and observe nature, look for colours and bring it all to life in paintings. Her brother Dermot's career has taken him to Hollywood where he works as a concept designer and has worked on a number of films, including Star Wars II - Revenge Of The Clones, Batman Begins, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and Harry Potter. He previously worked as an Illustrator for '2000 AD', publishers of the popular 'Judge Dredd' comic.
Her paintings hang in many private & public collections including the Department of Political Science and Sociology, National University of Ireland Galway.
